Adonis, one of the founders of Chariot, is an entrepreneur, investor and qualified mining engineer whose expertise lies in the discovery and development of natural resources including diamonds, precious metals, battery and base metals and more recently transitional energy. Adonis has worked in the resources sector for over 30 years. His first listed entity was Petra Diamonds which he founded and listed on AIM in 1997, merged with Crown Diamonds and moved to the LSE’s Main Board, acquiring four mines from De Beers during his tenure as Chairman, a post he held until 2020. Adonis has also been influential in the founding, financing and development of a range of other resources companies in Africa, taking assets through the full value chain from exploration to production, through his investment company Pella Resources. Pella has a pan-African presence across a range of commodities and a strong track record and network across the continent. Pella’s focus was initially to incubate and build resource entities but over recent years this has broadened into an active investment house with a global remit and an emphasis on clean tech and renewables.
