Hemant Chaudhary is a mechanical and controls engineer who currently works for Skyfront. Hemant has previous experience working for Volkswagen of America, Inc, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors. In their current position, Hemant works alongside Volkswagen to help model and program a lane-keeping algorithm for a four-wheeled vehicle called Niki that could traverse on non-ideal, off-road environments such as icy roads, while ensuring safety of the passenger at all times. Hemant modeled Niki using the Dynamic Bicycle Model, computed the Understeer Gradient assuming Steady-state cornering and implemented a Look-Ahead controller for Lateral Control and a Longitudinal controller for Speed Control while using a Coupled-Tire model to analyze tire behavior after saturation before eventually simulating the entire model on MATLAB.
