He was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee at Gestmin SGPS, SA, (currently Manuel Champalimaud SGPS, SA ) between 2015 and 2019 and, from 2017 onwards, he joined the Board of Directors of CTT as a member non-executive . In 2019 he was appointed President of the CTT Executive Committee , from which date he resigned from all positions he held in the Manuel Champalimaud Group. At CTT, as President of the Executive Committee, he is responsible for the general coordination of executive activity, P&L and Business Development, with direct supervision of the areas supporting the Executive Committee, Sustainability, Innovation, Regulation and Competition, Company Secretary and Legal Department , Institutional Relations and Philately, which he holds as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the subsidiaries CTT Expresso - Serviços Postais e Logística, SA, CTT - Soluções Empresariais, SA, and CTT IMO - Sociedade Imobiliária, SA He has extensive professional experience in executive and non-executive positions in large listed companies in Portugal and Brazil, especially in the infrastructure and energy sectors. From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the Board of Directors and CEO of Efacec, an industrial company recognized for its innovation in equipment and automation in the energy sector, currently present in 22 countries, being responsible for areas such as risk management, human resources, communication, innovation and international business.At the same time, he was a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the José de Mello Group and was President of COTEC Portugal. He was an executive member of Brisa's Board of Directors for 11 years (operating in 5 countries at the time), being responsible, among others, for the areas of operations, innovation, business development and international, presiding over several infrastructure concessionaires and other subsidiaries from Brisa. Between 2000 and 2003, he was a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of EDP, at the time the largest listed company in Portugal. He began his professional career as an academic, being a Full Professor at IST since 2000. He began a long-term unpaid leave in 2002, in order to dedicate himself to full-time duties in business management positions.
