Naïm Abou-Jaoudé currently serves as Chairman and Interim CEO of MacKay Shields and is the Chief Executive Officer of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), which is comprised of the affiliated global asset management businesses of its parent company, New York Life Insurance Company. Previously, Naïm was the CEO of Candriam from 2007 to 2023, one of NYLIM’s affiliates. During his tenure as CEO, he guided the company through its 2014 acquisition by New York Life and subsequent rebranding to Candriam. He successfully strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable investing, doubling its assets under management through geographic expansion across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. In addition, under Naim’s leadership, Candriam further diversified its position through a number of acquisitions and partnerships in the European alternative space, including Kartesia and Tristan Capital Partners. With over 30 years of experience in asset management, Naïm has held various leadership roles, including Alternative Fund Manager at Credit Agricole and UBS Asset Management, and Chief Investment Officer and CEO of Dexia Asset Management, Candriam's predecessor. Between June 2021 and June 2023, Naïm was President of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA), representing the €27 trillion European investment management industry. Naïm graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris and earned a Master's in Economics and Finance from Université Paris II - Panthéon.
