Mike Jackowski is the chief executive officer of Duck Creek Technologies and is on the company’s board of directors. A lifelong technologist who has a passion for insurance, Mike is driven to harness the power of technology to transform the insurance industry. For more than 30 years he has been an industry thought leader delivering groundbreaking solutions to help insurers reimagine their insurance products to better protect people and businesses. Mike also serves on the board of Bonterra, an international social-impact software company. Mike brings decades of technology, operations, and insurance-industry expertise and proven results to his global leadership role. In more than 10 years as CEO, Mike has led Duck Creek through tremendous growth, overseeing Duck Creek’s resumption of business as a stand-alone enterprise in 2016 and its initial public offering in 2020. The company has considerably expanded its high-functioning global employee team of insurance and technology experts; attracted some of the world’s most successful insurers to its customer roster, including the top five North American carriers; and broadened its market internationally. Under Mike’s leadership, Duck Creek has garnered prestigious awards for both technology innovation and workplace culture. In 2022 these included Best Global Culture, from Comparably; Best Places to Work in India and 12 Best Internet/Product Companies, from AmbitionBox; and Best Employer, from the World HRD Congress. Prior to Duck Creek, Mike held several executive roles at Allstate, including senior vice president for the agency technology and sales business units. In his initial Allstate role as senior vice president of technology and operations, he was credited with reinventing the insurer’s claim operations through modern technology and governance, a project that impacted 17,000 employees and involved 1,000 resources on three continents. This “Next Gen” claims initiative, which he spearheaded, was honored in 2008 with two illustrious industry recognitions: “Premier 100 IT Leaders,” by Computerworld magazine, and the Pink Elephant’s Information Technology Infrastructure Library Project of the Year award. Before joining Allstate, Mike was a managing partner for Accenture’s global claims and underwriting practice. Under his leadership, the practice created the company’s pioneering software solution, Accenture Claim Components, now Duck Creek Claims.
