Raul Fernandez is president and chief executive officer of DXC Technology, the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, with over 130,000 colleagues servicing nearly 6,000 private and public-sector customers in some 70 countries from a diverse array of industries. Mr. Fernandez was appointed permanent President and CEO in February 2024 after serving since December 2023 as the company’s Interim President and CEO. He previously served as a member of the company’s Board of Directors since August 2020. Mr. Fernandez is Vice Chairman and co-Owner of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, a private partnership which owns some of Washington, D.C.’s major sports franchises including the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics and the NBA’s Washington Wizards. The partnership also owns and operates Capital One Arena, Washington, D.C.’s premier sports and entertainment complex, and Monumental Sports Network, the exclusive local television rightsholder for Washington Mystics, Wizards and Capitals games. As a member of the Monumental Sports & Entertainment leadership team, Mr. Fernandez is involved in multiple aspects of the business including global sponsorship, esports, partnerships, and technology innovation and serves as an Alternate Governor for the NBA Board of Governors. Mr. Fernandez brings more than three decades of executive experience scaling innovative and rapidly growing technology companies. Mr. Fernandez was the founder of Proxicom (NASDAQ: PXCM), which under his leadership evolved into a prominent early global provider of e-commerce solutions for Fortune 500 companies, Mr. Fernandez guided the growth of Proxicom from its launch in 1991 to public listing in 1999. Proxicom was acquired by Dimension Data (LSE: DDT). From 2000 to 2002, he served as Chief Executive Officer for Dimension Data North America, an information systems integration company, and as a Director of its parent company, Dimension Data Holdings Plc, in 2001. He also served as Chairman and CEO for ObjectVideo, a leading developer of intelligent video surveillance software, which was sold to Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM) in 2017. During George W. Bush’s presidency, Mr. Fernandez served as a member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Mr. Fernandez has also served on the Board of Directors at Broadcom, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO), a global technology leader in semiconductor and infrastructure software solutions from January 2020 to April 2024. He was a member of Broadcom’s Audit Committee, which assisted management in establishing the company’s policies with respect to risk assessment and enterprise risk management, including any exposures related to data privacy and information technology systems controls and security. Mr. Fernandez was also a member of Broadcom’s Nominating, Environmental, Social and Governance Committee. He previously served on the Board of Directors at GameStop (NYSE: GME), a global, multichannel video game and consumer electronics retailer, from April 2019 to June 2021. During his directorship with GameStop, Mr. Fernandez served on the company’s Audit Committee, which was responsible for, among other things, reviewing the company’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Mr. Fernandez has had an extensive and successful career as an active investor, executive, board member and advisor at numerous disruptive technology companies, including, among others, DailyPay, Cloud9 eSports, Radius Networks, SUGARFISH, and Professional Fighters League (MMA). Mr. Fernandez, who was born in Washington, D.C. to immigrant parents from Cuba and from Ecuador, is an active philanthropist, focusing his energy primarily on educational reform in the D.C. region. In 2000, he cofounded Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP) with fellow D.C.-area tech pioneers Mario Morino and Mark Warner, a philanthropic investment organization based in Washington, D.C. Passionate about making college education accessible to Washington, D.C.’s high school students, Mr. Fernandez is also a board member of District of Columbia College Access Program (DC-CAP) and the Fernandez Foundation. Mr. Fernandez holds a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of Maryland, and attended St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C.
