Levy makes his tenth appearance on the Midas List as the co-president, managing director, and chairman of global technology investing of General Atlantic, a global growth equity firm with more than $84 billion in assets under management.Since 1998, the Johannesburg-born investor has led the firm's investments in leading technology companies such as Airbnb, Alibaba, CrowdStrike, Mercado Libre, Facebook, Slack and Uber, and co-led investments in Adyen and ByteDance.Other notable lead investments include cybersecurity platform CrowdStrike, which went public in 2019 at $7 billion, and e-commerce site Alibaba, with the second-largest IPO in history at $25 billion.In July 2021, Levy led an unusual $1.5 billion Series A funding round in a previously bootstrapped e-learning company, Articulate, one of the largest of its kind.
