Rich Friedman is Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, helping to lead the development of Goldman Sachs’ broader alternatives business. He is a member of the Management Committee. Mr. Friedman is also Co-Chair of the Asset & Wealth Management Private Investment committees, including those for Corporate, Credit, Growth Equity, Infrastructure, Real Estate and the Sustainable Investing Group. Previously, he was Global Head of the Merchant Banking Division for 21 years, until 2019. Mr. Friedman joined Goldman Sachs in 1981 and was named Partner in 1990.
